Significant Savings By Enrolling in Maine Tree Growth

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Enrolling in Maine Tree Growth does impart significant tax savings. However, the first concern many may have is how to pay for the required management plan or how much it will cost for the plan that is required for entry into tree growth. While generally not enough to pay for the forest management plan outright, the State of Maine does provide landowners with a $200 tax credit in the first year of enrollment and every ten year enrollment anniversary in which the Tree Growth management plan needs to be recertified by a professional forester. For more information contact one of the professionals at IFM, or to view the details on the Maine Tree Growth requirements and tax advantages please view the document at http://www.maine.gov/revenue/forms/property/pubs/bull19text.htm.
