Conservation Activity Plans

IFM is pleased to be recognized as a Technical Service Provider (TSP) for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). This is a great program for helping landowners afford a professional and thorough forest management plan for their forestland asset. EQIP is administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The USDA provides funding for qualified forest landowners to have a Forest Management Plan (FMP) developed. The FMP is developed by a TSP who is certified by the NRCS to provide technical assistance to non-industrial private forest landowners for specific conservation programs administered by the USDA. IFM is certified to write FMP’s for a Conservation Activity Plan (CAP). CAP’s are one of several types of plans that are offered in the EQIP. You can read a brief description of the EQIP at www.privatelandownernetwork.org/yellowpages/resource.aspx?id=1584. You can also read a fact sheet about the FMP at ftp://ftp-fc.sc.egov.usda.gov/ME/Programs/ForestMgmtPlanFS2012.pdf.
